Sr. Mechanical Project Manager

We are currently searching for a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to manage a large hospital project in the GTA.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the field project to ensure all milestones and projects are completed within the established budget and timeline
  • Manage field labour capacity through the master schedule to ensure no excess overhead occurs
  • Attend all required site meetings, process change notices, communicate changes, work with all applicable parties (engineers, client, consultants, internal team) to ensure the project is on-track and on-budget at all times
  • Establish and manage positive relationships will all key stakeholders (owners/clients, General Contractors, sub-Contractors, designers and field labour
  • Collaboration with the field administrator and project director for planning, strategy and management of the project
  • Process all required paperwork pertaining to the project
  • Provide reporting cost-analysis and work with the scheduling and finance teams as required
  • Full accountability for the project financial scope
  • Manage all documentation pertaining to the project
  • Identify and create/source a resolution for project roadblocks
  • Review all updated schematics, blueprints, drawings and collaborate to appropriate staff
  • Walk the field site daily to ensure field management and presence is executed
  • Mentor junior Project Managers and Coordinators



  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • Experience managing hospital projects with a budget greater than 5 million
  • Proven track record for productivity, profitability and cost analysis
  • Able to manage a Mechanical crew field site
  • Educational background in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management or equivalent
  • Previous experience working within a retrofit environment is an asset
  • Excellent Communication and leadership skills to provide clear direction
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and change management
  • Strong Computer skills related to the Construction/Mechanical Industry
  • Able to develop and manage detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates and resource plans in conjunction with project members
  • Establish key project metrics and take appropriate action to manage accordingly
  • Technical background expertise in scheduling and costing utilizing Primavera and Microsoft Project

Working Conditions

  • Hours are generally Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm but additional hours may be required during peak periods
  • Moderate physical effort due to field construction sites. Requires handling of light and moderate weight objects including office equipment and other office supplies and/ frequently sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time while using a telephone, computer, cell phone
  • Vehicle travel to sites, ability to walk in construction terrain is required
