Mechanical Design Manager

We are currently searching for a Mechanical Design Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and calculations to ensure project specific requirements are met
  • Produce design schedule and deliverables list for consulting engineers and ensure the deliverables are met
  • Manage the strategic aspects of large projects dealing with the design of various building systems including HVAC mechanical systems, building automation systems, plumbing systems, fire protection, building sustainability and energy efficiency strategies as applicable
  • Work within a project team and work closely with clients
  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures
  • Develop, implement, and maintain sound business practices
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications/Positional Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in the province of Ontario
  • 5+ years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering/Design or equivalent
  • Strong Background with Mechanical systems and new build construction industry with a focus on healthcare and other institutional facilities
  • Previous experience with large scale P3 pursuits within the Ontario marketplace is an asset but not required
  • Experienced with design of various building systems including HVAC, building automation, plumbing, sustainability and energy efficiency strategies as applicable to large construction projects
  • Systems experience in: chillers and cooling plants, boilers and heating plants, steam and humidification systems, air handlers, fire protection, plumbing systems
  • Experience with quantity surveying and estimating
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal) and customer skills
  • Expert with time management, deadline driven and passionate
  • Exposure with Project Management software and has been exposed to a Project Management environment
  • LEED accredited or working towards
